i was thumbing through facebook on election night, and the number of lefties who had decided to write big fucking long posts about it, as if any cunt cared, was amazing.

Nothing of the sort from anyone supporting the tories.

its the identity politics that has invaded the left following the final defeat of marxism that's the reason for this. If youre against labour, you MUST be racist, homophobic, islamophobic, anti-abortionist etc etc. You must be evil.

Very true. Facebook and newspaper and opinion pollster comments sections are infested with extreme lefists who feel it is OK to abuse in the most foul-mouthed terms anyone who strays from their own opinion, but react with an extraordinary hypocrisy to anybody who gives a bit back in return. You saw it here a bit, although most of it was tame enough stuff, just about within the bounds of robust debate.

Anyone who disagrees is a racist, a vile sewer-dweller, scum, a liar, a supporter of the murderous IDS and Esther McVey (who personally killed a million disabled people, apparently), a paedophile and most of all A PAID TORY TROLL.

It's a bizarre phenomenon and I am sure led to man thousands of voters switching to Tory.

Guilty as charged but it's honestly nothing personal, thing is on here (and the internet in general)views get so polarized, important to try not to judge someone that you don't know on personal level, just because you fundamentally agree on some issues, all of us have much more in common but that rarely comes to light on here.

I agree some lefties go a bit far, but the same can be said of the other side.

I do think alot on the proper left (not the centre left) seem to be quite vocal and also seem to struggle having a political debate without getting angry and all excited.

Nothing wrong with passion and conviction but you have to be willing to hear different viewpoints without acting like a cunt.

The article was written by a student. As someone who was one a couple of years ago What he says about it being pretty De rigour to be automatically anti-tory is spot on.

See also the public sector.

Even suggest that you're not voting labour or greens in some environments and you'll have to defend yourself from people screaming at you calling you're hitler and bringing politics into every single aspect of everything you do.

Doubt very much saying you vote labour in a corporate environment or whatever that you'd expect to be traditionally tory is the same at all. tories just seem to get on with it.

I'm not whingeing or making tories out to be some oppressed minority or anything, but it definitely is an Interesting observation about how different the two camps behave.

Can say alot about you, how you react to different opinions.
